What acorweld.com and the ACorWeld inspection tools process, and why. Last updated 24 October 2026.

Who is responsible

Hosting

The site and the calculation server run on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.). To deliver the pages and protect the site, Cloudflare processes connection data such as your IP address. The calculation server itself does not store or log what you send to it. Fonts are served from this site, not from Google Fonts.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Language of the site

The home page acorweld.com opens in Polish, German or Spanish if your browser lists that language before English (browsers send their languages with every request); otherwise it opens in English. A language you choose with the language switch is remembered in the cookie acw-lang and takes precedence. The language is used only to choose the page and is not stored on the server.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in showing the site in your language (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Visit statistics without cookies: Cloudflare Web Analytics

Every page counts its views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service of the host of this site. A small script from Cloudflare records the page, the page you came from, your country, the type of device and browser, and how long the page took to load. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device; according to Cloudflare it does not identify or follow individual visitors, and the figures are shown only in total.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used and how quickly it loads (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Visit statistics: Google Analytics, only with your consent

Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you click Accept in the cookie banner. Before that, and if you decline, the Google tag is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google.

With your consent it records which pages you view, which buttons and functions of the tools you use (their names, never the values you enter), the page you came from, your device, browser and screen size, and an approximate location (city, region, country) that Google derives from your IP address. Google states that it does not log or store IP addresses of users in the EU, Switzerland and the UK. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off.

In the tools these records are events with fixed names: a result shown (with its status only: within the limits, a warning or outside), a value refused (the name of the field, not the value), the result panel or the chart opened, the example data loaded, rows pasted into a record check, a result copied or a Report PNG made, and roughly how long it took to the first own result (in ranges such as 10–30 seconds). No number, text or row label you enter or paste, and no result value, is part of them.

Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_…, kept for 13 months. The statistics are kept in Google Analytics for 14 months.

Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Google privacy policy.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; the _ga cookies are then removed.

The tools

Values you enter are sent over an encrypted connection to the ACorWeld calculation server, worked out in memory and not stored. Settings such as units or the open tab are kept in your browser on this device.

An answer from your AI chat can come back to a tool with an ACorWeld link (the values follow # in the address) or, on Android, through Share to the installed ACorWeld tools (the shared text goes once through the address of the page /tools/share/). The page reads the values in your browser, removes them from the address at once and puts them in the field; from there they are calculated like typed values and are not stored. The link stays in your AI chat and may stay in the history of your browser.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing the tools you use (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Stored on your device

  • acw-consent – your choice in the cookie banner, for 12 months (local storage).
  • acw-ga – whether analytics is switched on for the site, until you close the tab (session storage).
  • acw-tools-token – your session of the tools; with “Remember on this device” for up to 180 days (local storage), otherwise until you close the tab.
  • Settings of the tools such as method and units, until you clear the browser data (local storage). Entered values are not stored with them.
  • acw-hand – values you take to another tool with a link such as “Preheat for this steel”; that tool reads and removes them when it opens and uses them only within 2 minutes (session storage).
  • acw-lang – the language you chose with the language switch, for 12 months (cookie).
  • _ga, _ga_… – only after Accept, see Google Analytics above.

None of these is shared with anyone else, apart from the Google Analytics cookies described above.

Contact form

Messages from the contact form are delivered through Formspree (Formspree, Inc., USA). Your name, e-mail address, message and the language of the page are used only to answer you. Legal basis: answering your enquiry and preparing an offer (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Formspree privacy policy.

Links to other services

Support on Ko-fi, the feedback form on Google Forms, the LinkedIn profile of Maciej Kochel, booking a call on Calendly and the digital business card on Blinq open on those sites in a new tab; their own privacy policies apply. This site only links to them and sends them nothing.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to maciej.kochel@acorweld.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example in the EU country where you live.
